Another exotic collectible necklace collected along the prince Alexandra mountain range in Sepik. Tree bark string used to weaved tinny deep sea shell and also attached to it is a mandible of a giant bat.

This is another rare old museum quality necklace collected in Prince Alexandra mountain range area in the 1970s. It dates back to the to 1950s. Because of old age, it has some wear and tear. This necklace is used for monetary purchases, bride price as well as in singsing ceremonies (Traditional dance)  etc.

Manus Basket

Baskets are woven in different styles and shapes and it differs from province to province. The material used to weave baskets likewise is different for each provinces.
The two types of baskets we have in stock come from Manus and Sepik provinces of Papua New Guinea. Sepik basket is weaved out from a grass that grows along the banks of the mighty Sepik river and the Manus basket is weaved out from a tree bark.
